On a recent post, Conversation on Isolation, I promised I would put together a list of online resources for Fibromyalgia and chronic illness support and information. Below you will find many - but not nearly all - links to social networking online resources. Because I am not an active participant of each site listed I am only making comments on the sites I have firsthand knowledge of. Please feel free to add to this list in the comments, or leave your thoughts, feelings, experiences on any of the listed sites. Due to the amount of information available, I am breaking this information up into … [Read more...]
Bloggers Unite for Fibromyalgia Awareness Day
Today I celebrated Fibromyalgia Awareness Day by attending a luncheon with members of my Fibromyalgia support group. As always, it was fun and restorative to spend the afternoon with others who understand. There is never a hesitation if someone stops speaking mid sentence because they lost their train of thought, or if you have to get up and walk around after sitting for 15 minutes. We understand and can laugh about the uglyness of Fibromyalgia, because when we are together we are not alone in our struggles. I started a discussion by asking how I could encourage some of our members who … [Read more...]
New Book on Fibromyalgia – Claims to Fill in the Missing Pieces
I initially hesitated to share the following information with you about a new book on Fibromyalgia, primarily because I only know of it from a press release I received. I have not read the book. But then I remembered that knowledge is power, and the more resources we have at our disposal, the more options we have to chose from. Please do not take my sharing of this information as an endorsement of any kind. Read it for yourself, and if you are interested there is a link to the authors website with more information about his practice and philosophy. Here is the press release: FOR … [Read more...]

Nightingale contracted a paralyzing, CIND-like illness in her mid-thirties and spent the last 50 years of her life virtually bedridden. Despite her … [Read more...]
Do You Hate the Lyrica Commercials as Much as I Do?
Every time a commercial for Lyrica comes on I cringe, and then I quickly change the channel. I have not seen a single commercial to which I could actually relate to the actor trying to pass themselves off as a Fibromyalgia patient and sufferer. They irritate me to no end, and yes I have considered that it is possibly because I choose to be drug free, and I have made no secret about my disdain for drug companies, but mostly I think it is because the actors and the commercials are not true representations of a person living with Fibromyalgia. Take the latest ad for example: Lady walking … [Read more...]
