Embracing your diagnosis as a gift, teacher and blessing. Sounds a little convoluted doesn't it? Well yes it is a complex concept, but Hillary Rubin is living proof that it is possible. A few weeks ago I did not know Hillary, but she sent me an e-mail introducing herself and sharing her philosophy on wellness: Personally my journey began back in 1996 when I was working in the fashion industry for Prada in NYC and was diagnosed with MS. Like most I was upset, angry and thought my life was over. At the same time I also found yoga and now from keeping up a healthy lifestyle (left … [Read more...]
Leave a Comment, You May Make a New Friend
When I began my blog last October it was most definitely a selfish endeavor. I wanted (and needed) a space of my own to vent, process, absorb and share what my life with Fibromyalgia is all about. Viva la Vida
Do you ever feel that you are on the verge of something real, something good? Do you ever feel that despite all you are suffering with, or maybe because of it, that you are on the precipice of something deeper than you could have imagined, and that all you have gone through has brought you to this moment, to this time, and that everything is exactly how it is supposed to be? Alltop is an "online magazine rack" which features all of the best blogs and websites on an infinite number of subjects. Fibromyalgia Haven is now listed on the "All the top Fibromyalgia news" page. It is gratifying to know that my ranting and raving has not turned everyone away. They said so, not me. Thanks for the acknowledgment Alltop! … [Read more...]
Current State of Acceptance
I have no idea how devoted bloggers manage to keep their posts up in December. I am desperately behind. No time to research and write an interesting and/or educational post, so I thought I would just write about how busy December is and how difficult it is for me to manage it all with Fibromyalgia. Busy for me with FM is different that it used to be - parties, dinners, lunches, shopping, decorating - I used to thrive on everything Christmas. Now I have to pace myself. I no longer decorate rooms with Christmas paraphernalia, now I am happy to have a simple tree decked out with all of my … [Read more...]
