I have no idea how devoted bloggers manage to keep their posts up in December. I am desperately behind. No time to research and write an interesting and/or educational post, so I thought I would just write about how busy December is and how difficult it is for me to manage it all with Fibromyalgia. Busy for me with FM is different that it used to be - parties, dinners, lunches, shopping, decorating - I used to thrive on everything Christmas. Now I have to pace myself. I no longer decorate rooms with Christmas paraphernalia, now I am happy to have a simple tree decked out with all of my … [Read more...]
Things I Love #2: Venting
Boy did that feel great! Yesterday I was a balled-up angry mess, but then I typed the word “pissed” 500 times and I felt much better! As I have said before, pain makes me angry. How could it not? Pain leads to all things bad in my world, so sometimes I have to just spew forth like an angry volcano and relieve some of the pressure and tension that has built up. And you can post from ANYWHERE!
So that was the plan. Go to Hawaii for Kim's wedding and take the laptop so I could keep up with my intentions of posting to my blog daily. Instead, somewhere over the Pacific, it decided it was not interested in participating and took a nap - forever! You know what they say about good intentions and best laid plans... 10 Things That Make Me Happy Every Day
The gentle kiss my husband Rob places on my sleepy cheek before he leaves for work in the morning. Seeing my 13-year-old lab Casey curled up behind me in her favorite chair while I sit working at my desk. The squeaking sound that comes from my dog Finley as he runs back and forth through the house, chomping his favorite stuffed shark or armadillo in his mouth. The grunts my BIG cat Monty lets out whenever he jumps down off of anything and hits the floor. The weight of my not-so-big cat Moby on my legs as I lay sleeping in bed. (Ok sometimes this annoys me and I kick and squirm and … [Read more...]
Welcome!
So I am going to become a blogger, and I have been trying to figure out what it means to me, and how it compliments who I am. First off I love the idea of blogging as a whole. It is this amazing sub-culture on the Internet that I have become fascinated with. There are so many voices out there to be heard. Not only expert voices, just voices that have something to say and through their blogs we are fortunate enough to get fascinating glimpses into their minds. I have found the blogs I like best are the ones whose authors are aware they have an audience, yet they speak with a realness and … [Read more...]
