Today is day 13 of my self-imposed 30 in 30 writing assignment. I feel like CRAP, and was about to blow the whole thing off, but then my husband gave me just the right amount of encouragement, and here I am. This is going to be one of those filler posts, because it feels better to do that than to completely give up on my assignment. The following is something I did on facebook in February. You know those annoying things people do and then tag you to do one of your own? Well I did one and here it is. I apologize to any of you who already read it on facebook. You have my permission to move … [Read more...]
It’s a Down Day
Today is what I call a "down day." You know - a recovery day, a "my brain is not working" day, a "did I remember to brush my teeth?" day, a "babe, do you mind bringing something home for dinner?" day, a "man I HURT" day. Today is the day I ignore my phone, stay off the computer and catch up on my DVR. I will drink a lot of water today, even more than the A LOT that I normally drink. I have … [Read more...]
Bloggers Unite for Fibromyalgia Awareness Day
Today I celebrated Fibromyalgia Awareness Day by attending a luncheon with members of my Fibromyalgia support group. As always, it was fun and restorative to spend the afternoon with others who understand. We understand and can laugh about the uglyness of Fibromyalgia, because when we are together we are not alone in our struggles. I started a discussion by asking how I could encourage some of our members who … [Read more...]

In Honor of Every Mom Living with Chronic Illness
I often wonder how you do it. How do you take care of your health and wellbeing while fulfilling the numerous selfless duties of motherhood? And I think I know the answer. After the dinner is cooked and the homework is done and the teeth are brushed and everyone is tucked safely in bed, maybe then, for a moment, you have a chance to consider yourself. Sometimes a flare-up may force you to consider yourself sooner than you normally would have, but even then you struggle with putting yourself first. Mom's by nature are selfless and your children are blessed because of it. I honor and … [Read more...]
